Stability of linkage between markers and QTL in a factorial mating design: Analysis of growth traits in Eucalyptus

Morin E., Gion J.M., Vigneron P., Verhaegen D.. 2000. s.l. : s.n.. Plant and Animal Genomes Conference. 8, 2000-01-09/2000-01-12, San Diego (Etats-Unis).

Stability of linkage between markers and QTL in a factorial mating design: Analysis of growth traits in eucalyptus. Elisabeth Morin, Jean-Marc Gion, Philippe Vigneron and Daniel Verhaegen. Previous work reported the localisation of QTL on Eucalyptus urophylla and Eucalyptus grandis linkage maps for growth and wood density with RAPD markers, using a specific cross E. urophylla x E. grandis. The aim of this study is to find out whether linkages between QTL and markers detected in this interspecific family for growth are stables in different genetic backgrounds. This investigation has been carried out in a factorial mating design 4x4 (4 E. urophylla used as female parent and 4 E. grandis used as male parent). A total of 40 markers were genotyped on 16 interspecific full-sib progenies (a total of 790 hybrids). The linkage between QTL and RAPD markers have been underlined by the ANOVA displayed by SAS program (glm procedure). The results are being discussing in the framework of breeding programs of perennial crops. (Texte intégral)
