The phylogenetic relationships between Frankia strains infective on Casuarinaceae were studied using 16S rRNA partial sequences. The strains infective on Casuarinaceae belonged to two phylogenetic clusters. This finding confirmed that Gymnostoma microsymbionts are Elaeagnus strains. We propose a scenario for the evolution of Casuarinaceae symbiosis. (Texte intégral)
