A new species of geophilomorph centipede of the genus Schizonampa Chamberlin, 1914, collected in Martinique Island (Lesser Antilles) is described: S. barberi n. sp. It is distinguished from other species of Schizonampa by a number of morphological characters, particularly its 47 to 51 pairs of legs, its larger size, number of coxal pores and the intermediate part of its labrum. With this discovery and other unpublished data, a provisional list of eight species for the order Geophilomorpha of Martinique is provided, with also a ninth unpublished species of the family Geophilidae.
