The WCHR is a joint initiative of ASHS and ISHS designed to focus on the changing global demand and supply of research in horticulture. The conference will present and analyze the dynamics that give rise to the framework of organization, management, financing, and policy-making underpinning research in the horticultural sciences. It will provide a panorama of innovative approaches to the many facets of horticulture in the third millennium : priority setting and decision-making in policy, international cooperation-networking and funding, food safety, the environment, and quality of life. All those involved in setting research priorities, operational programs and their assessment, project areas, and the management of the resources to be allocated at the local, regional, national, and international level in the public and private sectors are invited
