Ecopathological survey of goat pneumopathies during the dry, cold season in Chad: methodological aspects

Lancelot R., Imadiné M., Mopaté Y., Faye B.. 1994. Kenya Veterinarian, 18 (2) : p. 130-132.

In Chad, as in many other Sahelian countries, goat pneumopathies are a serious problem during the dry cold season. Some authors have pointed out that most cases are not caused by specific pathogens (Lefèvre, 1977, Le Jan et al., 1987). As goats play an increasing role in farmers' income and in human nutrition (milk and meat) around N'Djamina, Chad, it was decided to perform an ecopathological survey on goat pneumopathies. This paper summarises the first steps of the survey. A more detailed presentation can be found elsewhere (Lancelot et al., 1993).
