In Ecuador, some Asclepias curassavica L. plants express leaf yellowing and premature death. Examination of symptomatic leaves by electron microscopy revealed a mixed infection of Phytomonas and Rhabdovirus-type particles. The origin of the pathological symptoms is discussed.
