Because of the complexity of the project, a few days of this first mission for ACDI/VOCA were required to understand how the Farmer Income Support Project is being implemented. After two days in the field, the number of coconut trees to be culled the following quarter was calculated. The locations of the diseased coconut trees to be culled first in order of priority were recorded. If the number of trees to be cut exceeds the budget, the phytosanitary barrier will have to be moved. Some slides summarizing the main recommendation were presented at a meeting on the last day, and are included in this report. The next mission will take place in May 2013.
