Assessment of natural rubber central analysis laboratories in Africa : Project "Improvement of quality and quality control of African natural rubber", CFC subsidy n°28

Sainte-Beuve J.. 1999. Paris : CIRAD-CP, 19 p..

Under the project for "Improvement of quality and quality control of African natural rubber" numerous documents have already been published on the quality approach taken under this project. This report covers its introduction in the four central laboratories of the Sub-Region : in Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon and Côte d'Ivoire. A full survey of the current situation was carried out for each laboratory, and as comprehensive as possible a description was produced of the improvements to be made regarding the premises and their environments in which the dilferent analyses will be carried out. A manual can be found in the annex detailing the items of equipment used in the laboratories for the SAR standard, their calibration and their maintenance. All in all, these laboratories have already undergone changes that enable them to virtually meet the demands made by the quality assurance policy that needs to be implemented by any physico-chemistry laboratory. However, some improvements (set out in this document) still need to be made in some laboratories, in order to fully satisfy the specifications that govern the management of natural rubber central reference laboratories. This document falls under the general provisions with which central testing laboratories must comply in order to be acknowledged.
